Jay Schaffer Assistant Superintendent

Jay was born on Scott Air Force Base in Illinois, just east of St. Louis. MO. As a military kid he moved every few years. There were two things his Dad made sure he had after they moved – a library card and a golf membership.

After college, Jay got his first job in golf at the Charleston AFB golf course. In total, Jay has worked at seven different golf courses. He has been the assistant superintendent at the last three – Salisbury CC in Richmond, VA, Briar’s Creek in John’s Island, SC and now here at OHGCC.

Jay is married with two children, both have been members of our summer crew, two cats and a dog. He has enjoyed is 12 years as a PNW resident.
